Thank you for visiting Green Phoenix Property. My mission is to promote awareness and
education on the importance of sustainability, efficiency, and healthy
living within our community. I
aim to work toward making the Earth a better place for future
generations by reducing, reusing and recycling. I am here to help you
buy or sell your home and learn
how to integrate Green features into your property or new build. I will
do what it
takes to earn your business and specialize in Green home sales and
education throughout the Valley. Green matters!- Melisa Camp
Real Estate Qualifications
I have been a Real Estate Agent with HomeSmart since 2008. I obtained
my Green Designation from Green Resource Council and was recognized by the National Association of Realtors
®
in 2009. I belong to the National, Arizona, and Phoenix Associations of Realtors®. I also am Arizona's LEED for Homes advocate and heading up the State's Residential Green Building Committee. Currently, I am working toward earning my LEED for Homes accreditation and working to start a Young Professionals Network chapter for the Phoenix Association of Realtors.
Over the last two years I have taken numerous continuing education courses to stay on the cutting edge of developments in the real estate market. Some of the areas I have been trained in include: Green Designation Core Principals, Green Residential Properties, Listing and Selling Properties in Foreclosure, Servicing Buyers, Servicing Sellers & Marketing Properties, Financing, and Contract Writing. My education is well beyond what is required of agents. Additionally, in keeping with the Green movement, my office is almost completely paperless and I have even found it to be more efficient to have an 'office in the clouds' and conduct business electronically.
Education
I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree. In 2005, I earned my Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Business and Communication. My undergrad education provided me with a solid marketing foundation and strong writing and communication abilities. My Master's degree is from University of Phoenix in Education and I now use it to educate people on going Green and building Green.
Employment Experiences
Prior to becoming a Realtor
®, I taught Kindergarten in Phoenix for 3 years, worked for a large law firm, and was a sports reporter for a large newspaper. (Imagine what I could do for your listing!) I believe these experiences made me into the organized, perfection seeking, multi-tasking, well-rounded professional that I am today. Even more importantly, they shaped some of my core values- namely children and education.
Volunteer
I currently am an activist for
RePower America and a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. As a former teacher, I am proponent of local schools in the community through an
organization called Support Our Schools. Also, I recently started my own
cause on Facebook called, "Green Your Community," and will be
sponsoring community events every month. Finally, my husband and I are Conservation fund, Lou Gehrig's disease, Breast Cancer, Autism, and Goodwill donors.
Personal
I relocated to Arizona from Chicago in 2002 and have lived in both Tempe and Scottsdale before settling down in Phoenix's Central Corridor. I have a wonderful husband of two years and in June of 2009 we welcomed our first son into the world. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, playing volleyball, movies, and walking/running with my dog, Reese. Finally, I don't just preach how to be Green, I live it and love it! I strongly believe that we have to work together to make the world a better place for ourselves and our children.
